I received my graduate degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute in counseling psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology, and have a wide range of experience working with a variety of different traumas including abuse, neglect, and relationship difficulties. I worked with children at a school for two years as at a three years at intensive, in-depth training institute with adults that involved learning how to deeply listen and provide high quality psychotherapy. I have also worked with more severe disorders including schizophrenia, Bipolar I and II, OCD, and substance use. Please see my services pages for specific difficulties, issues, and traumas that I treat.
How I work:
You may have felt like you shut down or freeze in situations, overwhelmed by emotions that seem to just come out of nowhere. Or you may have flashbacks from a specific traumatic event. It can feel like such a lonely and isolating experience, especially if we feel like others don't understand what we're experiencing. Feeling misunderstood can make us feel even worse. Or we can feel like something is wrong with us, and that we should be able to be strong and pull ourselves from out of the emotions or frozen states. It is not because you are weak.
All of these responses are normal reactions from trauma. Other reactions to trauma can also make us anxious, depressed, or can make it extremely difficult to be in social situations and engage with others. You deserve to feel like you can engage with others in a way that not only allows you to feel like you belong, but in a way that makes you feel like you’re more alive and comfortable with just being yourself. Whatever you are struggling with or have overcome, you are a survivor and you are strong (even though you may not feel that way). Now let's work together to understand your trauma; I am here to listen to your story and help you create the life that you want and deserve.

I am here to work with you to fully understand your story and what you are struggling with so that I can know how best to help and support you. We will then create a plan together to help you feel confident handling strong emotions that come up. The more we talk about emotions, the less they will have power over you. I believe that it is your right to have the opportunity to work through your struggles in order to live your fullest potential and to follow your dreams. I am hopeful that we can work together to create the healing that you need.

Your emotions matter; YOU matter. Let’s take your life back.
